North Las Vegas police have arrested a man suspected of killing his 55-year-old roommate and injuring another in an attack in their home Friday.

Sean Szymborski, 23, was arrested Friday and faces charges of murder, domestic battery with substantial bodily harm victim over 60, first degree kidnapping and first degree kidnapping victim over 60.

Police were dispatched about 11:40 a.m. to a house in the 4400 block of Nestos Valley Avenue, near Ann Road and Decatur Boulevard, North Las Vegas police spokeswoman Ann Cavaricci said.

They found a man dead and another man, 71, with nonlife-threatening injuries, she said. The injured man was taken to Centennial Hills Hospital.

The cause and manner of death of the other victim have not been determined, Cavaricci said.

Shortly after discovering the man’s body, officers located Szymborski in the neighborhood and took him into custody, she said.

Police were looking for potential witnesses.

“It’s a nice, sunny day outside here. This is a residential area, and there’s a lot of people out,” Cavaricci said. “We’re hoping that somebody saw or heard something.”

Richard White, 31, who has lived in the neighborhood for about six years, said he was shocked.

“It’s pretty quiet over here,” he said. “It’s a family environment. There’s a lot of kids you see coming home from school here ... I never thought this would happen.”
