Richard Nelson had four touchdowns Friday for the Chaparral High football team in a 35-14 victory against visiting Sunrise Mountain in the Sunrise League opener for both schools.
Nelson scored three ways — rushing, receiving and on an interception return.
He rushed for nearly 200 yards and two touchdowns, and caught a long scoring pass from Andrew Solis in the opening minute of the second half for a 28-0 lead.
Chaparral (2-1) plays Division I-A state favorite Desert Pines next week.
