Nevada Highway Patrol says the 36-year-old man who led them on a 45-minute high-speed chase from Las Vegas to Boulder City and back again, injuring three troopers, faces multiple charges after being arrested Tuesday.

The agency identified the driver of the stolen black Chevy Tahoe as Cody Lavin. He was booked on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, felony eluding, battery on a peace officer, ex-felon possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property plus several misdemeanor traffic charges

No other information about Lavin was provided and it wasn't immediately clear if he was represented by a lawyer.

Lavin was signaled to pull over just after 2 p.m. Tuesday after an NHP trooper clocked him going 83 mph in a 65 mph zone. Lavin stopped on the right shoulder of southbound U.S. 95 at Valley View Boulevard but then fled traveling south on U.S. 95.

The SUV had been reported stolen earlier to Metro Police. Troopers pursued Lavin as he continued traveling south on U.S. 95.

At the U.S. 95/U.S. 93 interchange north of Boulder City, Lavin exited and re-entered U.S. 95 traveling at 90 mph, according to an NHP release.

Metro's air unit joined the chase and followed the Lavin as he exited onto Flamingo Road but then re-entered U.S. 95.

Spike strips were successful deployed on the Chevy as it passed Boulder Highway. Lavin then exited at Charleston Boulevard and entered a parking lot.

A trooper had his vehicle set up to stop Lavin, who hit the vehicle, injuring the officer. Another patrol vehicle was set up to stop him, and Lavin rammed that vehicle, injuring a second trooper, according to the release.

Lavin then left the parking lot, traveling north on southbound Lamb Boulevard and hit a Metro Police car. After hitting the car, the Chevy crashed and stopped.

Police ordered Lavin to exit the SUV, but he did not comply. He was removed by troopers and placed into custody.

Lavin was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
