Las Vegas woman convicted in bank, outlet mall robberies

A Las Vegas woman who was the getaway driver in the robberies of 13 banks and stores from December 2012 to March 2014 has been convicted of multiple robbery and firearms charges, federal prosecutors said.

Sesley Williams, 46, was convicted on Jan. 16 by a federal jury on eights counts of bank robbery, five counts of interference with commerce by robbery and five counts of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Between Dec. 28, 2012, and March 30, 2013, Williams and a codefendant robbed six banks, three outlet malls and another store in Las Vegas, two banks in Henderson, and an outlet mall in Primm, authorities said.

Williams is scheduled for sentencing on May 21.

She faces up to 20 years in prison on each robbery count and a mandatory minimum of 107 years in prison on the brandishing of a firearm counts.

Codefendant Anthony Jordan was convicted by a jury in November of 13 counts of robbery and firearm-related charges, officials said. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 19.
