Man killed on Christmas Eve in Las Vegas, allegedly by wife, ID’d

A man who police say was fatally shot by his wife Christmas Eve at the Plaza hotel has been identified as 48-year-old David Timothy Cordova, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

The official cause and manner of death for Cordova, a North Las Vegas resident, has not yet been released, the Coroner’s Office said.

According to Metro Police:

Officers were called about 10:15 p.m. to the hotel, at 1 S. Main St., near East Ogden Avenue.

Detectives believe 34-year-old Maria Escalante shot Cordova multiple times during an argument in a hotel room. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Escalante was arrested on one count of murder with a deadly weapon and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

She also faces a count of child neglect and endangerment and is being held without bail, according to jail records.
