Police investigating the case of a critically injured 4-month-old child at a hospital were led to a North Las Vegas house where another child was found dead, police said.
Officers were called Wednesday afternoon to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center to investigate the injuries to the 4-month-old and in the process arrested a 17-year-old girl on charges of child abuse with substantial bodily harm, Officer Aaron Patty said.
Police continued their investigation, which led them to the 6600 block of Wood Thrush Place, near the 215 Beltway and Aviary Way, Patty said.
There police located a dead child, he said.
The age and gender of the child were not immediately available.
No one else was in the residence, Patty said.
Police could not confirm the relation between the 17-year-old girl and the children.
