Ex-Australian police officer gets life term in porn, exposure case

A former Australian police officer has been sentenced to life in prison for exposing himself and viewing pornography in the presence of two young girls in Sparks.

The sentence was handed down last week in Washoe County District Court to Roderick Skinner, who will be eligible for parole after serving five years.

Skinner, an unemployed former Queensland, Australia, officer on a disability pension, earlier pleaded guilty to felony promotion of a sexual performance of a minor.

The 7- and 8-year-old girls told police Skinner was seated in his wheelchair in front of his computer when he exposed himself and viewed pornography in their presence at his apartment complex in July 2013.

Investigators later seized his computer and found more than 50 images of child pornography on it.
