Armed robbers wearing hockey masks target 2 northeast valley stores

Police say three men wearing Jason-style, Halloween hockey masks robbed two businesses Tuesday in the northeast valley.

Metro Police received reports of a robbery at Short Stop convenience store, located at 4680 E. Lake Mead Blvd., near Lamb Boulevard, about 9:20 p.m., Lt. Mark Reddon said.

The men, who were armed with handguns, struck the clerk on the back of the head and took an undisclosed amount of money, Reddon said.

The suspects were last seen fleeing the scene on foot, he said.

Three men matching the suspects' description also robbed Napoli Pizza at 765 N. Nellis Blvd. about 10 p.m., Reddon said.

The men robbed the business at gunpoint and were also last seen leaving the scene on foot, he said.

The businesses are located less than two miles apart.

The suspects are described as young, slim and tall black male adults, Reddon said.
