Coroner IDs teen killed in car crash into utility pole

An 18-year-old woman killed Wednesday night after the car she was riding in crashed into a utility pole has been identified as Rajaunay Davis of North Las Vegas, the Clark County Coroner’s Office reported today.

A 2004 Chevrolet Aveo was headed south on Fort Apache, near Sahara Avenue, about 11:30 p.m. when it ran off the road and hit the pole and a tree, Metro Police said. No other vehicles were involved.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene. Another woman, 20, was taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries, police said.

Two males in the car, including the driver, got out and ran away, police said.

Before the crash, the car was reportedly involved in a burglary/larceny at a convenience store near the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Hualapai Way, police said.
