Henderson pizza delivery driver shot in robbery attempt

A Henderson pizza delivery driver was shot in the ankle Sunday night after a man pulled a gun on him and demanded money, officials said.

The 42-year-old driver had gotten into his car outside Angelina’s Pizzeria, 835 Seven Hills Drive, about 10:40 p.m. when a man approached him demanding money, city of Henderson spokesman Keith Paul said.

The driver said he needed to go inside the store to get cash, and as he stepped out of the car, the suspect fired several shots, Paul said.

A bullet apparently ricocheted off the asphalt and hit the victim’s ankle, Paul said. The gunman fled on foot.

The delivery driver was transported to University Medical Center, where he was treated and released, Paul said.

Police are searching for the suspect, a white man about 6 feet tall with a thin build and black clothing, Paul said.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
