Suspect sought in Henderson hit-and-run was arrested in July

Henderson Police are searching for a 35-year-old man in connection with the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist Nov. 15, according to a media release.

An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for Cesar Gutierrez, who faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving a death and reckless driving/striking a bicycle, the release said.

Police believe Gutierrez was the driver of the Acura Integra that struck and killed Mario Regalado, 43, on Eastern Avenue near Evansville Avenue. Regalado was struck from behind and transported to St. Rose Dominican Hospitals — Siena Campus, where he was pronounced dead, the release said.

Gutierrez is described as a 6-foot-tall man with brown hair and brown eyes, weighing about 150 pounds, police said.

Henderson Police arrested Gutierrez on July 13 for charges involving possession of a stolen vehicle, driving without a driver's license, no insurance and displaying a bogus license plate, the release said.

He was sentenced to an Alternative Sentencing Work Program for fines associated with that incident.
