Motorcyclist struck, killed by driver exiting freeway

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday morning when he was hit by a driver who failed to yield while exiting U.S. 95, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The man was driving the motorcycle north on Martin Luther King Boulevard around 8:40 a.m. when a woman driving a Honda sedan exited the freeway and merged into him, Trooper Chelsea Steunkel said. The man was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Steunkel said the woman was at fault because she failed to yield while making the right turn onto Martin Luther King. It's unknown at this time whether alcohol was involved in the accident.
