Police identify woman accused in northeast valley hit-run death

A woman accused in the hit-and-run death of a 75-year-old man Thursday evening in the northeast valley has been identified.

Metro Police said Las Vegas resident Shana Williams, 59, struck a man crossing at the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Bonnie Lane in an eastbound 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera.

The man, also a Las Vegas resident, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Metro Police press release.

Williams continued driving and witnesses followed the car to a nearby residential area, police said.

When officers arrived, Williams took and failed administered sobriety tests, police said.

She was transported to the Clark County Detention Center.

The accident is still under investigation.​
