2 suspects arrested in fatal Boulder Highway carjacking

Two men have been arrested in connection with a carjacking that turned deadly on Tuesday, according to Metro Police.

A homicide investigation indicates Julio Renteria, 20, of Henderson and Adrian McClintock, 22, of Las Vegas shot a man in the 5600 block of Boulder Highway near Tropicana Avenue after attempting to steal his truck, according to a Metro press release.

Officers responded to a 5:26 a.m. call on Tuesday and found the man dead in his truck with a gunshot wound.

Witnesses’ descriptions and a search of the area led officers to Renteria and McClintock, the release said.

Both suspects have been booked in Clark County Detention Center.

Renteria was booked on one count of murder with a deadly weapon; McClintock was booked on one count of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon and probation violation, according to jail records.

The victim’s identity and the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner.
