CARSON CITY – Nevada has a new state labor commissioner.
Shannon Chambers was named to the post Monday by Bruce Breslow, director of the State of Nevada Department of Business and Finance.
She succeeds Thoran Towler in the $97,901 per year job. Towler resigned three months ago to join the Nevada Association of Realtors.
She previously was chief financial officer to the business department. She will take over on job Dec. 29 and be based in Carson City.
