Monsoon season in Las Vegas typically brings rain and flooding, but even with the number of recent soggy days, rainfall is below average this season.
McCarran International Airport, where the National Weather Service collects its official data for Las Vegas, has seen a quarter inch of rain this monsoon season, which runs July 1 through Aug. 31, meteorologist Chris Stachelski said.
That is below the average 1.05 inches normally measured by this time.
The amount of rain varies in different parts of the valley, but that data isn’t compiled, Stachelski said.
