Weekend best bets: Life Is Beautiful, PBR World Finals and ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’

The Killers plan to release their first greatest hits collection November 11 on Island Records.

Downtown’s highly anticipated Life Is Beautiful music and arts festival is here at last along with a slew of other festive fall events to help get you in the spirit for Halloween next week.

Here’s a look at our weekend best bets:

    • Coachella headliner Kanye West left the third day crowd without giving an encore performance.

      Friday: Kanye West at MGM Grand

      Praise Yeezus! Kanye West brings his massive new tour to MGM Grand Garden Arena on Friday night with a slate of hits and new tracks off June’s “Yeezus,” as well as opening performances from Pusha T and Travis Scott. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50 to $250.

      Saturday - Sunday: Life Is Beautiful

      It’s here at last! The inaugural Life Is Beautiful festival hits downtown this weekend with nearly 200 bands, DJs, chefs, visual artists and speakers spread across 15 city blocks. Headliners include homegrown stars like The Killers and Imagine Dragons and top chefs Tom Colicchio and Rick Moonen. Single-day tickets start at $95.

    • Tonight - Sunday: PBR World Finals at the Thomas & Mack

      The toughest bull riders in the land gather at UNLV this weekend to brave their bulls for eight long seconds in pursuit of the sport’s top titles. Fan and charity events across the Strip will run throughout the weekend to complement the main events at the Thomas & Mack Center. Tickets are $25 to $250.     • Friday - Sunday: Fall Festival at the District

      The District at Green Valley Ranch celebrates its recent revitalization this weekend with its new Fall Festival. The three-day event will include a performance by “America’s Got Talent” Season 6 winner and Las Vegas resident Michael Grimm, fashion shows from District retailers and cooking demonstrations and samplings from area restaurants.       Saturday: ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ at Regency Tropicana Cinemas

      Do the time warp again Saturday night at the annual midnight showing of the musical cult classic alongside the live cast of “Frankie’s Favorite Obsession.” The event also features three costume contests — Rocky Horror, Halloween and drag with plenty of prizes. Tickets are $9.

    • Friday - Sunday: Haunted Harvest at Springs Preserve

      Don’t miss the final weekend of Springs Preserve’s festival fall celebration featuring three days of family-friendly entertainment including a haunted hay maze, trick-or-treat stations, carnival games, live performances, a petting zoo and more. The event is 5 to 9 p.m. nightly. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for children.
