Metro Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint starting Friday night near the UNLV campus to crack down on drunk driving during spring break.
Police will be stationed at Tropicana Avenue and Wilbur Street from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday. Traffic officers will be focused on identifying alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers.
The intersection was selected for its high traffic volume and number of accidents, police said.
The sobriety checkpoint is part of an Enforcing Under Age Drinking Laws Grant and Joining Forces Grant from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety.

Hey everybody! If you're going to drive drunk, avoid this intersection. Wow, and marijuana is illegal....
(DUI laws are not limited to alcohol.)
