A 16-year-old girl was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries Friday after she was hit by a car in the northwest valley.
Metro Police received a report at 2:35 p.m. of an accident involving a sedan and a pedestrian near Buffalo Drive and Gowan Road, Officer Laura Meltzer said.
The girl was crossing Buffalo Drive outside a marked crosswalk when a Nissan Altima traveling north hit her, a Metro Police accident report indicated. The pedestrian is in critical condition, but Meltzer said her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
The accident remains under investigation by Metro Police.
