The Las Vegas 51s continue to hold opponents in check offensively, opening a Pacific Coast League series Saturday at Fresno with a 2-1 victory for their fourth straight win.
In the four-game streak, the 51s have yielded just three runs.
Top pitching prospect Zack Wheeler was the difference Saturday for the 51s, limiting Fresno to three hits and one run in six innings. Four relief pitchers held Fresno to one hit in the final three innings.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit a solo home run in the third inning for Las Vegas. Wheeler also shined at the plate with a double and run scored.
The series continues tomorrow in Fresno.
