When it came to the 2012 election, Sheldon Adelson’s pockets were so deep you might consider them bottomless.
But you can’t say the same for his company’s political wing. In fact, according to a new document filed with the Federal Elections Commission, the Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s political action committee is almost broke, with less than $11,000 left to its name.
The Center for Public Integrity, which noted the lack of cash flow in a report published Tuesday, points out the discrepancy between the Adelson family’s spending and company spending was always vast. The family's spending topped $93 million in 2012, while the company's just scraped $126,000.
