2 arrested in stabbing of guest in Las Vegas hotel

Two men have been arrested after a guest was stabbed over the weekend in the elevator of a Las Vegas hotel.

Police say 25-year-old Trent Wilcox and 23-year-old Carlos Heredia were booked on suspicion of attempted murder after the encounter early Saturday morning.

A witness told police she and her husband were going to their room at The Hotel, which is part of the Mandalay Bay property on the Las Vegas Strip.

The woman says Wilcox and Heredia appeared drunk and picked an argument with them. She says she told them to get off the elevator and tried to push them out when Wilcox tackled her husband and Heredia started stabbing him.

The victim was taken to the hospital with multiple stab wounds.

The two suspects were also treated.
