Bicyclist dies
A 48-year-old man riding a bicycle was killed Tuesday when he collided with a Mercury sedan, Metro Police report.
The collision happened around 12:45 p.m. at Pecos Road and Charleston Boulevard. Witness statements indicate that the bicyclist ignored a stop sign and attempted to cross Charleston Boulevard failing to yield to an oncoming car, officials said.
The driver of the sedan then collided into the left side of the bicycle. The bicyclist was pronounced dead on scene, officials said. The driver received minor injuries.
Metro Police Accident Investigations Section is investigating the incident.
