A court date was reset for a 64-year-old ex-convict from Texas accused of shooting at security guards after being ushered out of a downtown Las Vegas bus station.
James Calvin Abney's deputy public defender, Sara Hawkins, sought additional time to evaluate evidence, and Justice of the Peace Diana Sullivan rescheduled a preliminary hearing for Feb. 4
Abney is from Forney, Texas. He was jailed on $150,000 bail after police say he fired five shots Dec. 5 inside and outside the Greyhound bus station on Main Street.
No one was injured.
Abney faces felony attempted murder, assault with a weapon and firearm charges that could get him decades in state prison.
Abney told police he was homeless and he went inside partly to get warm on a cold night.
