Pedestrian killed on I-15
A man was hit and killed by a car tonight while walking along Interstate 15, Nevada Highway Patrol officials said.
Trooper Loy Hixson said the pedestrian was struck by a silver Nissan Sentra at about 7:20 p.m. on the highway’s northbound lanes just south of Sahara Avenue.
Officials don’t know why or when the pedestrian walked onto the highway, Hixson said.
The Sentra’s driver was rushed to University Medical Center; his condition was not known late Thursday.
The three rightmost lanes of Interstate 15 remain closed at the crash site while officials examine the area and clear debris off the road.
