Nevada AG says boy returned to father in Sweden

A Nevada elected official says a 3-year-old boy is being returned to his father in Sweden after being found with his mother in Las Vegas.

Nevada state Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto says a Clark County Family Court judge in Las Vegas determined Tuesday that 29-year-old Anastasija Juarez violated a joint child custody agreement when she brought the child to the U.S. late last year.

Masto says a Swedish court granted sole custody in June to the child's 29-year-old father, Damian Juarez.

The attorney general says Anastasija Juarez also used the last name Mitrofanova, and had been named in an Interpol arrest warrant.

Masto says the U.S. State Department, the Swedish Embassy in Washington, D.C., the Nevada state children's advocate and the father's attorney in Sweden helped resolve the case.
