Sandoval names man with ‘strong commitment’ to veterans to new military affairs post

Gov. Brian Sandoval is creating a new job in his office for military and veterans affairs.

The governor Monday named Caleb Cage — who is leaving his $95,650-a-year job as executive director of the Office of Veterans Services — as director of military and veterans policy. His new salary was not disclosed.

Sandoval said Cage has a “strong commitment to helping our state’s men and women understand and receive the benefits they deserve.”

Replacing Cage in the Office of Veterans Services will be deputy director of veterans services Katherine Miller, a retired Army officer. Willette Gerald, who retired from the Air Force, will be deputy in the office.
