Gas station attendant fatally shot in South Lake Tahoe

Police say a gas station attendant was fatally shot while working a night shift in South Lake Tahoe.

Lt. David Stevenson tells the Tahoe Daily Tribune the shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. at U.S. Gas on Highway 50 and Lodi Avenue.

South Lake Tahoe Police Chief Brian Uhler said the department had every available resource working on the case.

Details about the victim have not yet been released.

The station remained closed Wednesday, although the newspaper reported there were few signs that the station had been a crime scene.

No police tape blocked the area and no windows were broken.
