Domestic dispute leads to school lockdown, evacuations

Neighbors were temporarily evacuated and a school locked down after a man threw a brick through the window of a parked vehicle and barricaded himself in a home, Metro Police said.

The incident, which started as a domestic dispute, was reported about 12:40 p.m. in the 3900 block of Ebro Way, near Torrey Pines Drive and Flamingo Road, Officer Bill Cassell said.

When police arrived, the woman involved in the dispute was standing outside. Some neighboring homes were evacuated and Decker Elementary School was locked down, Cassell said.

Police were in the process of summoning negotiators and SWAT officers when the situation was resolved about 1:10 p.m., he said. The incident was under investigation, and no arrests had been made.
