Updated Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 | 3:35 p.m.

The Callville Bay Access Road at Lake Mead National Recreation Area has reopened after a fatal motorcycle crash Sunday morning, park authorities said.

About 9 a.m., park officials were called to the scene where a 22-year-old man was lying unresponsive 75 feet down an embankment.

Rangers tried to resuscitate the man with CPR for about 40 minutes before a paramedic pronounced him dead, authorities said.

Park rangers and the Nevada Highway Patrol are investigating the crash. Authorities are waiting to notify next of kin before releasing the victim’s identity.
