Liberty High senior Kai Nacua found several ways to score Friday night to help the Patriots down host Rancho, 49-3.
The BYU-committed quarterback and linebacker rushed, caught and returned a punt for a touchdown in helping Liberty improve to 2-1 overall.
The game started one hour late because of issues with the lights, but once they were turned on, Liberty was hardly challenged. Liberty is No. 2 in the Sun’s rankings, and Rancho was blown out for the third-straight game to open the season.
“When you are expected to win a game like that, it is nice to come out and actually perform like you are supposed to,” Liberty coach Rich Muraco said.
Niko Kapeli had three touchdowns for Liberty — two on rushes, and one on a blocked punt.
