Accident closes part of beltway
One person was sent to University Medical Center after a three-vehicle accident Monday afternoon stopped northbound traffic on Las Vegas Beltway in the northwest valley.
Nevada Highway Patrol was called at 3:30 p.m. to the northbound lanes of the beltway near Lone Mountain Road after a Subaru sedan, a Volkswagen sedan and a third vehicle had a collision, Trooper Loy Hixson said.
One person was sent to UMC with non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other injuries reported.
The accident is still under investigation, and no other details have been released. The freeway is closed between Lone Mountain Road and Cheyenne Avenue, where drivers are being diverted.
