Two workers injured in welding fire at Machine Guns Vegas

Gun range fire

Machine Guns Vegas caught fire late Friday night after a welding incident in the gun range while it was closed for maintenance, Clark County spokeswoman Stacey Welling said.

Clark County firefighters responded to reports of a fire at the gun range at 3501 Aldebaran Ave., near Interstate 15 and Spring Mountain Road around 11:20 p.m. Welling said two men were welding in the building when air-filtering material caught fire.

Building sprinklers helped contain the flames until the arrival of firefighters, who quickly extinguished the fire.

Welling said the two men evacuated safely but were taken to University Medical Center for minor injuries.

Welling said the fire and sprinklers caused $100,000 in damage to the gun range. The fire was ruled accidental.
