A two-alarm fire broke out Wednesday in the recycling yard of the Secured Fibers plant in North Las Vegas, officials said.
North Las Vegas Fire Capt. Cedric Williams said the blaze was reported about 12:05 p.m. at the recycling facility at 4751 Vanderberg Drive, near Craig Road and Lamb Boulevard. Crews from the Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue joined North Las Vegas firefighters to contain the fire.
Williams said the fire has been extinguished, but a thick cloud of smoke was lingering in the area. Nobody was injured.
Williams said the fire was contained to the yard, where recyclable materials ignited. Fire officials are working to determine the cause.
