Woman hit
A woman in a wheelchair was hospitalized Wednesday after being hit by a vehicle while she was crossing the street near the intersection of Lake Mead and Decatur boulevards.
Metro Police responded to the scene at 2:16 p.m.
According to police, the woman was crossing outside a marked crosswalk and avoided being struck by one passing vehicle before another hit her.
The woman was transported to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.
Police officers say the accident could have been prevented had the woman been crossing in a marked crosswalk.
