I want to thank Ada R. Lloyed for her recent letter clarifying that “the sitting president” is responsible for getting the nation into “this deep hold of debt.” I thought the hole was dug in 2003 when Iraq was invaded and deepened in 2006 when housing values dropped and sunk lower when Wall Street tottered in 2008. I guess it was President Barack Obama who did all this without George W. Bush and Dick Cheney having a clue. Obama even signed the TARP bill in October 2008! I missed that headline.
