Fresh paint and signs are seen at Drink & Drag, a new bar at Neonopolis featuring bowling and drag queens Thursday, April 26, 2012.
Saturday, May 5, 2012 | 2 a.m.
The operators of Drink & Drag bill it as the nation's first bowling and video game bar run by drag queens. Who are we to argue? For people who expect the unexpected in Las Vegas, this is the place. Drink & Drag is scheduled to open today with a ribbon cutting at 7 p.m. The Sun got a sneak peek inside the club, located on the second floor of Neonopolis, 450 Fremont St.

Primping it
A diva has to have fabulous hair, and Desarae Pendavis begins the process to transform into one of the drag queens at Drink & Drag, set to open this weekend.
-
Hemlines intact
With a staff full of drag queens, you need someone who can keep up with all the clothes. That job falls to Nick Benford, as he prepares for the opening of the new club at Neonopolis.
-
More costume changes than Cher
Get ready for theme nights, and there are plenty of costumes to carry it off. This rack is ready to dress up the staff members who will be serving bowlers and video gamers.
-
Spacious surroundings
With 22,000 square feet, the new Drink & Drag has plenty of room. The main bar is rich in red. There's also a 100-inch projector high-definition gaming console, interactive gaming chairs, air hockey and tabletop board games. Boredom is not an option.
-
Knock 'em down
The club features a dozen bowling lanes, colorful and artful. Can't wait to check out the shoes.
-
If bowling is not your thing
Maybe shooting the eight-ball in the corner pocket fits the bill.

Final touches
Desarae Pendavis practices putting on the glitz, days away from the opening of the new downtown club.
