It’s been a year and a half since the fourth season of 1960s-set drama Mad Men ended on AMC, and in that time fans have been pondering the fates of the show’s characters. Here are three of the most pressing questions to keep in mind during this week’s premiere, which offers plenty of answers and just as many new questions.
What happened with Don’s new marriage? Last season, Don Draper (Jon Hamm) impulsively married his enigmatic secretary Megan (Jessica Paré). Paré, now a series regular, takes center stage in the premiere, as we get to see just how Don’s life has changed thanks to his new spouse.
Did Joan have her baby? Joan Harris (Christina Hendricks) ended last season pregnant with a baby of questionable paternity and contemplating an abortion. The premiere definitively answers whether Joan carried the baby to term, but the question of its parentage remains.
How’s business at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce? After losing a big client in Lucky Strike cigarettes, the ad agency seemed to be struggling at the end of last season. The characters spend a lot of time in the premiere discussing the company’s financial health and what’s in store for its future.
