Tonopah inmate escapes from minimum-custody facility

A male inmate at the Tonopah Conservation Camp escaped the facility early Saturday morning, Nevada Department of Corrections officials said.

Officials said Mark Nemeth, 40, was last seen at 4 a.m. and discovered missing from the minimum-custody facility around 5 a.m. Nemeth is described as a 5-foot-8-inch, white male weighing 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, officials said.

Nemeth had been serving two 24- to 60-month sentences for attempted burglary and grand larceny, as well as a 12- to 96-month sentence for attempting to possess a financial forgery lab.

Officials urge anyone with information regarding Nemeth to contact Metro Police at (702) 229-3111.
