Letter to the editor:

Terminal 3 leaves much to be desired

I went to the open house last weekend at the new terminal at McCarran International Airport. It has some problems that need correcting.

I approached the airport from the Interstate 215 tunnel. The signs said to stay in the center lane for T3. After leaving the tunnel, the center line split. There was no sign at this junction that indicated whether to go to the right or left. I went left — wrong. The sign indicating the correct route was about 200 feet down the right fork in the road. I mentioned this to one of the personnel at the terminal and he said others have had the same problem. I had to go around the entire T3 complex to finally make it to the parking area.

When entering the parking garage, I was met with three ticket entry gates. Great, except the entry lanes immediately merged to one lane. This will be a problem.

The terminal is large, cold (I don’t mean the temperature) and boring. No pizazz. No artwork. No fantastic mobiles hanging from the ceilings, no children’s play area and no observation deck.

This is Las Vegas. The tone of our city should be set as the tourists get off the planes.
