Accident
A 35-year-old man died from a head injury after striking a light pole in his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday on Decatur Boulevard near Desert Inn Road, Metro Police officials said.
Officials said witnesses saw the truck switch lanes to pass other cars, when the driver lost control and swerved into a park bench and light pole, flipping the car over. The man, who was from Las Vegas, was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
Two passengers, a man from Long Beach, Calif., and a woman from Las Vegas, were treated for injuries and released.
Police are still investigating the accident, officials said.
