A 2-year-old boy was pulled from a backyard pool at 9:36 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Mallard Avenue, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski.
A 13-year-old family member was performing CPR on the toddler when rescue workers arrived, according to Szymanski. Paramedics continued to perform life support and transported the boy to the University Medical Center Pediatrics Unit. Szymanski said in a release that family members were unsure of how long the child was in the pool.
It is unknown at this time if the toddler survived.
Syzmanski says that, on average, eight children drown each year in Southern Nevada.

Every year we read about these terrible tragic events of babies drowning in family pools, why do people not heed the warnings, a toddler is still a baby they are in constant need of attendance, where were the parents??!!
I shall pray for this family's loss.
I actually know the 13 year old And his girlfriend. She said that His parents where sleeping and the 2 year old went through the doggie door and the 13 year old said on the phone that the 2 year old stacked his toys and climbed on them and fell in the pool face first. I heard about it this morning when i woke up.
I was just recently on the phone with the 13 year olds girlfriend and My prayers go out to the Family and the 2 year old. I dont know if i am allowed to say names but just in case i am not
We have a doggie door and a pool as well. I don't even invite people with small children over here. They slip away so fast and no one can be vigilant 24-7. You have to sleep sometime. My deep condolences to the family.
