The Metro Police search and rescue crew is trying to locate a man reported missing by his family after going hiking at Red Rock, officials said.
Police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said the man’s family contacted police Sunday to report him missing. The man had apparently went to the area to hike, but it’s unclear when he left, she said.
Authorities located his vehicle in the Calico Basin area of Red Rock National Conservation Area, she said.
Helicopters from the search and rescue crew scoured the area Monday night and Tuesday morning, but the air search has been suspended, Meltzer said.
A ground crew remains searching with the help of the hiker’s family and friends, she said.
No other information was immediately available, including the identity of the missing hiker.

The man was last seen on Jan 16, and family waited a week before reporting him missing. Now the last sentence "No other information was immediately available, including the identity of the missing hiker", look to the right his name, age and pic is there.
