A two-alarm fire Monday morning at a McDonald’s restaurant along the Las Vegas Strip caused $200,0000 damage, officials reported.
Clark County officials said firefighters were called at 9:42 a.m. to the McDonald’s at 3999 Las Vegas Blvd. South, near Four Seasons Drive.
Firefighters discovered smoke coming from the roof when they arrived, and a second alarm was sounded.
Officials said the fire was contained mostly to the roof and did not spread to the interior of the building, which was undergoing renovation.
Workers were outside the restaurant when firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported, officials said.
More than 30 firefighters from Clark County and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded to the blaze, said Erik Newman, deputy fire chief for the Clark County Fire Department.
Neighboring businesses were evacuated as a precaution, but they were expected to reopen Monday afternoon, Newman said.
Fire investigators have not determined the cause of the blaze, Newman said.
A northbound lane on Las Vegas Boulevard was closed near McDonald’s, snarling traffic near Mandalay Bay.
