Police rescue 12-year-old girl reported abducted in Montana

Metro Police found a 12-year-old girl who was abducted last week in Montana after stopping a vehicle near Primm, officials said.

The FBI in Kalispell, Mont., contacted Metro with information indicating Edgar “Eddie” Le, 28, was traveling south on Interstate 15 heading toward California with the girl, police said.

The girl had been abducted Feb. 13, authorities said.

Metro’s Criminal Apprehension Team spotted the vehicle Le was driving near Primm and coordinated a vehicle stop with the help of the Nevada Highway Patrol, California Highway Patrol and Metro canine and air units, police said.

They stopped the vehicle just north of Baker, Calif., and found the girl unharmed in the backseat, police said.

Authorities transported Le to Barstow, Calif., where he was booked in connection with federal kidnapping charges by the FBI, police said.

The girl is in protective custody while she waits her return to family in Montana, police said.
