Shots fired through door of Carson judge’s home

Carson City sheriff's officials say they're beefing up security at court and at judges' homes after two bullets were shot through the front door of a justice of the peace's house.

Undersheriff Steve Albertsen says judge John Tatro woke up to the sound of gunfire and called authorities a little before 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say two shots entered the front door, passed through the living room, and left through a sliding glass door. Officials say one of the projectiles hit the back fence.

Tatro and his wife were unharmed.

Deputies say they didn't find any possible suspects in the area when they arrived.

Albertsen says investigators are looking at Tatro's court calendar for potential clues, and trying to determine whether the judge was the intended target.
