A man was killed early Sunday morning after an altercation with his cousin, who was later arrested in the shooting, North Las Vegas Police said.

Police responded to the 3600 block of Terneza Avenue, near Pecos Road and East Tropical Parkway, about 1:40 a.m. and found the victim, Ricardo Mora, 32, of North Las Vegas, suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. When medical personnel arrived, Mora was pronounced dead, police said.

An initial investigation led police to suspect the victim’s cousin and roommate, Neftali Felipe Rodriguez, who left before police arrived, authorities said.

About an hour and a half later, police found Rodriguez walking near Craig Road and Interstate 15. Officers arrested him and recovered a handgun, police said.

Rodriguez was booked at the Las Vegas City Jail on counts of murder with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed firearm.
