A woman lost control of her car and crashed 40 feet into a dry flood channel near the World Market Center, fire officials said.

The woman, whose name was not released, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

The crash was reported at 9:23 a.m. near Symphony Park Avenue and Interstate 15, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

The woman called 911 herself, but rescuers had difficulty locating her until she described being near an autism awareness billboard, he said.

Paramedics had to cut open a fence and lower a ladder to reach the woman, Szymanski said.

Traffic was not affected by the crash, he said. Metro Police are investigating the incident, he said.
