It always seems that the minute a tragedy happens, like in Colorado, the pro-gun lobby gets nervous that the federal government is going to take away people’s guns.
I am not arguing that the Second Amendment is not valid and that people do not have the right to have their guns.
The question is: Do people need automatic rifles that can fire 100 bullets at a time? These guns are used for only one purpose: to kill a lot of people at one time. They are not used for hunting, and they are not used to protect you and your home.
No one is trying to take those guns away from you. Previously, there was a law outlawing these automatic rifles, but it was allowed to expire. That law needs to be reinstated. It won’t keep nuts from killing innocent people, but it may reduce the amount of people they can kill at one time.
This nut in Colorado was able to buy all these guns and all this ammo without any kind of background check.
Something needs to be done to at least prevent these mass murders.
