A stretch of Paradise Road is closed to northbound traffic as Metro Police continue to investigate a multivehicle collision.
At 2:03 p.m., Metro Police responded to a report of a collision involving five vehicles at the intersection of Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue, said Metro spokesman Jose Hernandez. A car ran a red light, striking three other vehicles, Hernandez said. Another vehicle also was struck after the initial impact, he said.
Police have blocked northbound traffic on Paradise Road from Karen Avenue to Sahara. Westbound Sahara at Paradise is restricted to one lane of traffic, police said.
One driver has been transported to University Medical Center Trauma with injuries not thought to be life-threatening, Hernandez said.
